🚔 Offender Jailed After Meticulous CCTV Work & Cross-Country Manhunt

A prolific offender responsible for two thefts from motor vehicles in Manchester City Centre — including the theft of high-value jewellery — has been jailed following a determined investigation by GMP officers.

👁️‍🗨️ Officers from the Manchester Town Hall Neighbourhood Team spent countless hours reviewing CCTV footage, meticulously piecing together the suspect’s movements across the city. Their persistence paid off, identifying the offender and triggering a targeted manhunt that stretched beyond Greater Manchester.

Working closely with specialist GMP units and colleagues from the Metropolitan Police Service, officers tracked the suspect to London, where they were located, arrested, and brought back to face justice.

⚖️ The offender was remanded in custody and has now been sentenced to 19 months imprisonment.
